She's my favourite actress, reveals Samantha, She did a great job as Jessie in Vinnaithandi Varuvaayaa. Interestingly, Samantha played the memorable role of Jessie in its Telugu version Ye Maya Chesave, for which she won the Filmfare award for Best Debut Female. So, did she think she did justice to it? Well, it helped that director Gautham Menon did not show me the scenes shot with Trisha in the Tamil version, she says, I did the best I could but when I saw Trisha's performance in VTV, I thought it was quite brilliant.
Samantha is now all set to star in another Gautham Menon Tamil film, this time with Jiiva. I'm very excited about it, she says, I don't know if it is VTV-2, but all I can say is that it will be an interesting love story. I can't wait to start work on this film, which will be a bilingual.
