Maestro warms Menon’s heart with his tunes in NEP

Maestro warms Menon’s heart with his tunes in NEPThe coming together of Maestro Ilaiyaraaja and ace director Gautham Vasudev Menon for the latter’s upcoming directorial venture Neethaane En Ponvasantham (NEP) is observed and awaited with great interest by music-lovers and ardent fans of the Maestro.  The film’s theatrical trailer, which was relased a month back, received tremendous response on the Internet and has upped the excitement fator among the audiences.

As a director, Menon badly needs a hit as his last directorial venture Nadunisi Naaygal in Tamil and Ek Deewana Tha in Hindi (Hindi remake of the Tamil super-hit Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya) fared badly at the box-office.  The first-time on-screen pairing of Jiiva and Samantha have added the much-needed star value to the film which is progressing in a brisk manner.

“Whenever I launch a new film, I’d think of signing up Ilaiyaraaja Sir as the music director but somehow it didn’t happen till NEP.  When I sougt and got an appointment with the Maestro, I told him that I’d completed 50% of the shoot of my upcoming film and wanted him to score the film’s music.  He watched the portions shot and the music he produced in the form of tunes in just a day’s time is simply unbelievable….

“He also told me not to take a break while composing a song which reminded me of the comments of a top hero who once told me that it’s a great experience to be in Raja Sir’s company while he composes music.  I realized that it was indeed an enthralling experience.  The composing took us to Hnugary where we engaged the Symphony Orchestra for recording the song.  As many as 8 songs are in the film and I’m sure all of them would be super-duper hit songs!” concludes Menon
