Ace
director S S Rajamouli who is awaiting the release of his visual
extravaganza ‘Eega’ was in for a surprise when the Tamil satellite
rights of the film were sold for Rs 3.35 crore considering that he sold
the complete Tamil rights for Rs 5 crore. The maker who felt that he
oversold the rights was left wondering after the film fetched a whopping
Rs 3.35 crore satellite rights.
“When eega Tamil rights were sold for 5 crores, I was a bit worried that we are overselling. Tamil satellite rights were sold for a whooping 3.35 crores!! We are left wondering whether we undersold the rights,” tweeted the ‘Magadheera’ director. The satellite rights were bought by Sun TV.
The price is the highest for a film made by a Telugu director. ‘Eega’, a bi-lingual, shot in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously, is set to buzz in screens from May 30. The first copy of the film will go to censors on May 21 and the maker is keen on getting an A-certificate for the film.
